The following information details the Southern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association (SSRAA) Kendrick Bay Terminal Harvest Area (THA) commercial fishing open waters and fishing schedule for the 2024 season.
SSRAA is forecasting a total run of 1,238,000 summer chum salmon to the Kendrick Bay THA.
The Kendrick Bay THA will open by regulation to commercial salmon fishing with purse seine and troll gear from 12:01 a.m., Saturday, June 15, through 11:59 p.m., Monday, September 30, 2024, and not close for cost recovery fishing. The Kendrick Bay THA (102-15) consists of those waters of Kendrick Bay west of 131°59.00′ W long, and the waters of McLean Arm west of 131°57.80′ W long.
Nakat Inlet THA
The following information details the Southern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association (SSRAA) Nakat Inlet Terminal Harvest Area (THA) commercial fishing open waters and fishing schedule for the 2024 season.
SSRAA is forecasting total runs of 415,000 summer chum, 24,500 coho, and 20,000 fall chum salmon to the Nakat Inlet THA.
The Nakat Inlet THA will open to commercial salmon fishing with drift gillnet and troll gear by regulation from 12:01 a.m., Saturday, June 1, through 11:59 p.m., Sunday, November 10, 2024, and not close for cost recovery fishing. The Nakat Inlet THA (101-10) consists of those waters north of Surprise Point at 54°49.10′ N lat and west of 130°42.75′ W long. The 500- yard stream closure regulation under 5 AAC 39.290(a)(2) except as specified for in 5 AAC 29.150 for troll gear will remain in effect in the Nakat Inlet THA.
