Southern Southeast Regional Aquaculture Association Now Hiring:
Maintenance Supervisor – Whitman Lake/Deer Mountain Hatchery in Ketchikan, Alaska.
The Whitman Lake Hatchery program operates both hatcheries producing chinook and coho
salmon, is a central incubation facility for summer chum, and manages four remote spring
rearing camps in the region. Desired skills include proficiency in: carpentry, welding, plumbing,
basic electrical, maintaining preventative maintenance records, use of hand and power tools,
and project planning. In addition to maintenance responsibilities, this position may, on
occasion, assist with various fish culture activities and will be expected to perform other duties
as assigned.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to develop healthy working relationships with
vendors, contractors, co-workers, other SSRAA departments, and have the willingness to share
knowledge and skills. The successful candidate must have or be able to obtain an Alaska
Driver’s License and all applicants may undergo a background check. Benefits include: health,

Salary Description: $4,696.00/month to $6,367.47/month DOE. SSRAA is an equal opportunity
